Cubic

We started up with cubic as our main design element. We use 4 by 4 cube to stack up a z-shape market to strengthen the relationship between go train station and the site by increasing the circulation. Sanna-inspired cubic box as residential scatting on the top of Z-shape market, maintain the style of the cube. Randomly but reasonably assigned rectangular  green space to each block could highlight the idea of cube.

For interior, the column was placed in 8 by 8 rectangle grid to create a wide open space for flea market but also continue the cubic stacking style. Then most interesting part is the side view for the interlocking cube. which allow the more natural light passing through the building to create a feel of natural open space.

The loft style balcony which was thoughtfully designed with boutique shop set  up.  was perfect spot for people to enjoy the unique experience for the interlocking cube and natural light. Such balcony is in-between space that people are inside the building in building in boutique shop but also outside the building in the balcony.
